Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory |

The 114-year-old conservatory on Belle Isle is thriving. The Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory is the oldest running conservatory in the United States. Divided into 5 rooms, it hosts a wide variety of plants, palms, succulents, ferns, cacti and tropical trees. The conservatory is located on 13 acres and treats visitors to gorgeous views of the formal gardens and Lily Pond.

This is a must-see for any plant enthusiast as the conservatory’s collection of plants are rare and exotic. Guests may also reserve the conservatory for weddings, private events or professional photography sessions. With so much to do on Belle Isle, it’s the perfect day trip for nature lovers. Guests can also enjoy similar attractions such as the Belle Isle Aquarium or the Belle Isle Nature Center.
