Birthplace of the Motown Sound
Motown Museum |
Motown Museum is one of southeast Michigan’s most popular tourist attractions. Home to an extensive collection of Motown artifacts, photographs and other memorabilia, the museum’s mission is to preserve the the Motown Records legacy. Learn how Berry Gordy started it all in 1959 with just an $800 loan from his family and created a record company that has had more impact on the style and substance of today’s popular music and culture than any other record company.
Take a tour through Hitsville U.S.A., the birthplace of the Motown sound. You can even sing a couple bars in the famous Studio A where The Supremes issued the command: “Stop in the Name of Love.”
